Hi Mr.AspiringActor. I saw both versions, and I agree with you. Mel Gibson may be a horrible man, but he's the better Hamlet, which just goes to show you, you can't judge an actor by the way he fucks up his real life LOL! Great review, my friend. Peace.

Thank you!

You know, funny thing, I actually posted this around the time of Mel's "racist rants"-I swear it was just a coincidence though!

Also, Soja, don't worry I don't have a high opinion of Mel because I haven't seen many of his movies. Besides this, I think the only movies I've seen that had him in it were Pocahontas and Chicken Run.

Mel Gibson? I should just forget all the bad things he's done in real life with the racism, the issues with his girlfriend... And... Okay... Mel Gibson?!

I have to disagree wih you there. I really liked Kenneth as Hamlet. You see it was the first Shakespeare movie I've seen and I thought his portrayal was spot on. I know I'm going to get a lot of crap for this but I never thought Mel Gibson could act that well. In Mad Max movies sure but as Hamlet? I just can't see it. Maybe it's just that I'm bias and I've always skipped the Hamlet movie Gibson was in because my English teacher thought it was terrible.

Though it is just my opinion and biased views on it

I disagree. Perhaps it is the fact that Brannaugh's Hamlet is more complete and more competent from top to bottom, but I prefer it. I think there are a lot of scenes were Gibson could have afforded to be more animated since it is Shakespeare. There is a little hamminess in that style. Yes, Brannaugh goes all out at times, but I think he does the slow and dramatic stuff really well too. So, that is my thoughts. Good video

Oh well your welcome to your opinion. Anyway thank you!
