Screw you, Rock of  Ages.    I didn't want to hate you because I was looking forward to this film but after finding out all the stupid changes you made from the play to the movie.  Screw you.   So apparently,   Lonnie (the Russell Brand character) had a purpose in the play because he was the narrator but no,  you decided to keep in the film but not as a narrator and what you did to Can't Fight This Feeling is just sick.   Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand singing to each other.   Nothing bad there but really, that was gross and why did they have to kiss each other?     Also look I know that you couldn't get the rights to Rock of Ages for the play but you could've tried for the movie and if your going to make a musical , actually hire actors that can sing and for everyone that has been saying Stacee Jaxx as played by Tom Cruise is Bret Micheals, That's an insult to Bret and furthermore, this had to be the weakest version of Every Rose Has It's Thorn.   I wanted to like you but after finding out what you did.  No,  a jukebox musical can be good and I know people have compared this to Glee and I'll concede to that even though I like Glee but this shouldn't feel like Glee.   The best thing I can say about this film is at least Juilanne Hough was smokin' hot as always. Otherwise don't see this film and if you wanna know the story, just find clips of the stage play on YouTube.

WOW!......Hadn't heard of this one, play or film, and I think I won't go looking for it either.  Sorry you got burned on a film you were looking forward to seeing, my friend.  Peace.

From the bits I've seen of the play on the Tony's, that looks like fun but this one was just sooo bad.

I've seen this movie and I completely agree 100%. They were trying to introduce the 80's to a younger generation, but failed to do so. The people I did see in the theaters were around my age or older and most of them dreaded it. As I tweeted on my Twitter account, if you want to introduce a decade like the 80's, show them something a movie/show from that time period that is both fun and timeless. Also, don't try to mess with the original source material that makes it unrecognizable, but don't play it safe either. Do it that is both familiar and fresh. Rock of Ages didn't do it for me.

That's pretty much how I felt about this movie.

Haven't seen this. but if you are going to have your film called "Rock of Ages" shouldn't you actually preform it sometime during the film? I actually really like this era of music, but listening to clips from the soundtrack were enough to scare me away. I'll take the real Def Leppard over Tom Cruise butchering classic songs anyday.

I think it's because of my age, but when I saw the trailers to this film, it didn't interest me all that much. Heck, for a while I didn't know about the play until ghe trailers. But judging by your thoughts on it, I doubt I'll be seeing it for a while.

Considering I have a standing rule against seeing anything with Russel Brand in it (Despicable Me being the one exception) it's a tad hard for me to get excited about this one. Though it does have Bryan Cranston in it...

I saw it today and man was it something ells. Not only is it a bad movie, but it does something I just hate and that's forcing the past down other peoples throats. I am under the opinion that you can be nostalgic for a little bit, but you can't live in the past and this is what this movie does. Its a perfect example of that bullshit saying that " they don't make anything like they used to ".
