So everyone, lift your glasses for the traditional OBotW Toast. To all the winners thus far, congratulations and see you around the blog

Now onto the other matter of this here blog, the new OutstandingBlog of the Week system. For the uninitiated goes like this:

Each week we (as in the admins) will set up a forum post or some other link that directs you to the nomination process. Once there the blogger (and soon video-maker) will submit their own nomination fortheir work. We accept everything, so don't be shy.

At the end of the week we take all the nominations and the committee votes. We take 7 of our favourite blogs and then rank those blogs through 1-7, 7 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. We then add up all those points together to find the overall winner.

Thus even if one voter doesn't vote for your blog, you still have a chance depending how the others vote. This allows the best of theblogs to be on top in a fair and partial system.

But enough housekeeping. Onto the runner-ups:

In Seventh Place: In Too Deep's 200th Blog/One Year Anniversary by Ratin8tor:

In Fifth Place: Fusionater's Showtune Showcase featured the one, the only, Phineas Flynn:

In Fourth Place: Sydney shows us another glimpse into her life:

And the award for the Outstanding Text Blog of the Week goes to.....

It's a tie!

Yes tied are two equally good blogs. Firstly there's Jason on the House, who wrote The World of Modern Film Composers: Patrick Doyle. It's about an overlooked Scottish film composers who scored Sense and Sensiblity, Hamlet, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Secondly there's the epic crossover between A Look at Disney and The Mouse House where said House was rudely invaded by a rather villainous guest. What better way to pass the time then to work out who the best Disney villain is:

So there you have it. Raise your glass to both Jason on the House, Moviefan12 and DisneyOtoko for their wonderful blogs. They worked hard and deserved the win.

And here's your trophy.

Please don't fight over it. We beg of you.

This concludes the first in the newly reformatted Outstanding Blog of the Week. Thus we turn the question to you: Do you think self-nominating blogs worked? It is thanks to the self-nomination we were able to get this and future blogs out on time, but do you feel there needs to be a way of improving upon it? Anything that we missed first time round?

(Don't worry video-makers, we'll be getting to you next time once we know how well this system works).

Anyone wishing to help with the voting can either contact Ratin8tor or Les and we'll explain the process to you in more detail. Until next time, Manic Expression members. Always remember:

Express yourself.

Once I was informed how it worked, the self-nomination process was just fine for me, and I liked that we got to see the runners up.

And congratulations to the winners, very well done!

Thanks very much! I loved every second of that list!

Me too! I love getting to be Darkfan every so often as he is just so much to write as. Granted, it can be challenging at times as I'm bad mouthing things I love but at the same time as Darkfan, I get to say things I'd never say as Moviefan. I'm always surprised at the reaction he gets as when I first introduced him, he wasn't all that popular but once he started appearing on other people's blogs he took off and it showed me that in an odd way, the character I created and didn't think about until Fusionater asked to use him can be fun as before I'd never thought about using him after my own storyline but boy am I glad that changed as the Darkfan articles have been some of my favorite things to work on.
