In Too Deep: The Top Six Worlds That Should Appear In Kingdom Hearts 3.

Posted by Ratin8tor on August 13, 2012 at 5:00 PM

Hello and welcome to In Too Deep, whereI over-analyse a certain section of pop culture.

Well since I'm currently playingthrough Kingdom Hearts 3D (with the levels based on Fantasia lookingand sounding amazing) it's about time we look ahead at what thefuture of the series could hold. What Disney properties are left overfor them to make worlds out of?

6)Deeper Jungle: You know, thisis probably the closest one to actually being realized and made.Mostly since it was in the original version of Kingdom Hearts: BirthBy Sleep before being Dummied Out. Still, since they don't have therights to Tarzan any more, it would make perfect logical sense to goexplore the Jungle Book's universe instead. In fact I was honestlyquite surprised when it didn't feature in Kingdom Hearts 3D, sincethey were obviously planning on using it. Nevertheless it would stillmake for a fun and interesting world. Teaming up with Baloo wouldprobably be the highlight for me.

5)St. Canard/New York City:The reason I'm putting these two together is because they're bothfrom hit TV shows. Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles were the coolest showswhen I was a kid, since they weren't afraid to be mature in theircontent. Now I bet anyone over the age of 17 (aka anyone that didn'tgrow up in the nineties) probably has no idea what I'm on about. Andto that I say shame on you, since the nineties were the decade whereeverything was good. Anyway having either Darkwing Duck or Goliath onyour side would be pretty kick-ass.

4)New York City:Remember how people said that Disney buying Marvel would cause theend of the world? Turned out that didn't happen. But what did happenis the opportunity to have Sora, Donald and Goofy interact withSpider-Man, Iron Man and Captain America. Now ask yourself, is thereanything more awesome? No, I highly doubt there is. In fact you couldmake an entire game just out of using Marvel continuity. What aspin-off that would be. Someone cut all the red tape stopping thisright away.

3)Toon Town:I'm honestly surprised that this one hasn't been put into any of thegames yet. While Traverse Town (the first world in the game) can beseen as being loosely based on Main Street, I'm surprised that no onehas thought of adapting Toon Town. I mean another one of those legalissues where you can't have any Warner Bros. characters in it, butthat doesn't stop Roger Rabbit from making an appearance. It'd belike Traverse Town, only far more thematically suitable. Plus it'd beawesome to see a random assortment of Disney characters millingaround an area all by themselves. I'm still surprised that this onehasn't been thought up.

2)Any Pixar world:At some point in the near future I'm gonna write a blog about howPixar could be integrated into the Kingdom Hearts universe, but fornow lets just imagine the possibility of having the leads interactwith classic Pixar characters. Wandering around the worlds of ToyStory, A Bugs Life, The Incredibles, Brave. The best part is, I'llget to beat the ever-loving stuffing out of that evil Lotso bear fromToy Story 3 that sent the toys to metaphorical hell and almost realfire. I'm still annoyed I don't get to beat up Frodo in KingdomHearts 3D (since I'd love to smack that racist prick with a giantkey), so we definitely need this opportunity in Kingdom Hearts: Pixarversion.

1)Any world lost to darkness:Okay this is just gonna be for the fanboys/fangirls of the series, but at the end of Birth By Sleep one of the leads ends up in theRealm of Darkness. Basically any world that is destroyed ends up inthis realm, where it's surrounded by dark monsters. Now imagineplaying through classic movies like Snow White or Cinderella, butsurrounded in darkness. Having everything twisted and dark. Where youhave to go through unlocking these worlds from darkness in some way.Meeting dark version of the lead characters. Sure Disney wouldn'tapprove of their characters being twisted and dark, but it'd beawesome nonetheless. And the best part is this is the game with themost possibility. We might see this one someday soon.

So there you haveit. Just a fanboy's look at what could be in the Kingdom Heartssequel. If you disagree with anything, or have anything to add, feelfree to leave a comment. Till next time.

I don't play the game, but any time Goliath shows up, it is awesome. Good list

The one I was hoping the most didn't show it's face: I was really looking forward to a 1930 New Orleans. That would've been awesome.

The worlds I'm looking forward to the most are ones based on Great Mouse Detective, Aristocats, and maybe a Hawaii Lilo and Stitch world, though I'm hoping for a return to the Pride Lands for an adaptation of LK2

Good list and all but I thought ToonTown had appeared in Kingdom Hearts before. I thought it was in one of the handheld games. I really love the idea of St. Canard and I think if they were to do a Pixar world, the two that I see working the most are Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles. Still, a fun read.
