Greetings, fellow Manic Expressionists! Jason on the House here with the assistance of the OBotW committee to catch up with the Outstanding text and video blogs of the week for June 25th to July 1st. As always, this week had particularly brilliant stuff that made it so hard to select a winner. Honorable Mentions include:
Whyboy Spotlights... Brave.
That Long-Haired Creepy Guy tells us why he prefers gay porn.
Moviefan12 takes a look at an old Disney special from '87, Sport Goofamania.
Moviefan12's A Look at Disney’s Classic Shorts Showcase visits The Martins and The Coys, which is loosely based on the infamous Hatfield-McCoy feud.
pbmiranda concludes Old School Lane's discussion of Double Dare with the video game adaptation on the NES.
Sydney talks about scariest dreams she has ever had.
And even this long list doesn't reflect all the amazing blogs that were posted that week. Do you have any idea how often do the comitee and I have to bite our lips and clech our teeth with determination when we shorten down our nominations to only seven?
*A champagne cork hits Jason on the House on the head, and someone gaily says "tell us the winner already!"*
WHO WAS THAT?! Anyway, we must present the winner:
MBA-Ms Bad Ass
who returned in a long while and narrated to us what happened at the movies with her boyfriend DeMario, and the disasterous film they saw: Tyler Perry's Madea's Witness Protection Program. She was poignant, funny, and blunt, and told us the story in great detail. Welcome back, MBA-Ms Bad Ass!
And so, everyone, let's lift our glasses to toast this week’s winner. (This time I brought grape juice for young people like me.) “Here’s to you, MBA-Ms Bad Ass. May you continue producing hilarious, detailed and honest rants that we all enjoy as you’ve been doing.”
Chestahub sings a cute song for YouTube.
Decker Shado, the internet celebrity with the best hair, presents Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
MixCritic brought her humorous and poignant JAWS Unleashed: A game review.
Timdiana gave us a hilarious review: More Than Meets the Eye Part 1 (Transformers Review)
WhyBoy's and DanBProductions' first, brilliant collaboration to review Evil Toons, where they find out What do Big Titted Porn Stars and Carppy Animated Wolves have in common?
Finally, we had Lotus Prince's Let's Play: Dead Space Part 14, where he tackles the hideous "pods," and POWER UP LIKE CRAZY!
They were all great videos, but one stood alone at the top of the
food chain pyramid, quoting Les. The Outstanding Blog of the Week for videos was, hands down:
who gave us STOP THE HATE #165 - The Why Nots, where he told us some sound advice from Kevin Smith, and just hit the nail on the head what makes a site like Manic Expression so unique: Why Nots having fun together, doing what they truly love.
James was really inspirational, passionate, and honest. We all have been there where we were ignored and questioned "Why?" when we talk about our interests and passion; however, everyone had the chance to be who they truly are in Manic Expression, without fear of persecution and loneliness. He talked about the podcast plays where we jumped in eagerly, because we wanted to share what we have inside of us.
I'm really proud of this community, and to be friends with so many awesome people. Quoting Fusionater, we are a community of Why Nots, and we should pronounce it to the heavens, because, why not?
So let's raise our glasses. To James, who deserves a toast so much. James, we love you so much, and I cannot thank you enough for building and connecting this community where we can enjoy and express ourselves. It just wouldn't be the same here without you!
The Outstanding Blog of the Week is selected and voted on in committee (Les, Sydney, Mr. Smooth, Jason on the House, Fusionater and BigBlackHatMan) and looks at text and video blogs from Monday to Sunday. Thank you, Manic Fans for giving some of your time today to help support one of our members. See you in a few days when I catch up with the rest of the OBotW! So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish.
