Hello and welcome to Outstanding Content of the Week, where we look at the best blogs and videos that came out this week. So without further ado lets start with the videos.
Outstanding Video of the Week
The Silver Medal goes to a man who sat down and reviewed Kiddy-Girl(which is apparently its real title, so you know you're in for a high-class piece of art there). Check out Fanservice Fiesta's season 2 finale here:
The Gold Medal(even though it's a trophy, but why ruin a good metaphor) goes to two guys starting up a new web-series where they sit on the couch and give their views on the upcoming games, both mainstream and a bit more indie. Check out the pilot of Gaming Soon here:
Outstanding Blog of the Week
So now we move onto the blogs that have been Outstanding this week. So without further ado(again).
In Seventh Place: We have a tie between two great blogs. BigBlackHatMan takes a look at some of the worst Westerns he's ever seen:
Meanwhile NewPhoenixFilms takes a look at a forgotten film with help of good old Doctor Frankenstein:
In Sixth Place: Les tells us all the dangers of growing old, which my generation shall avoid the second we find out the secret to eternal youth. Until then have fun reading about Colonoscopy and see what you have to look forward to in your future:
In Fifth Place: Fluffyman calls out those that would exploit a tragedy for their own personal gain:
In Fourth Place: pbmiranda takes a look at one of Nickelodeon's more simplistic shows from the past, the slice of life show that was Hey Arnold!:
In Third Place: Moviefan12 risks himself in the temple of attractions (okay so I'm rubbish at making jokes sometimes) to take a look at the various ways Indiana Jones has popped up in the Disney Theme Parks:
In Second Place: Dark Jak takes a deep look at the various villains Spider-Man has faced over the years and why they've managed to endure for so long:
And the winner, of Outstanding Blog of the Week, is...
Last year the writer of the winning blog was doing a general paper on pop culture and theology. Suffice it to say he had fun in class drawing the most random of connections between the Bible and various parts of Geek culture. As such he attempted the ultimate challenge: Can the argument be made that Batman is Jesus (and the Joker is subsequently the Devil). The essay only got a C (since comic books aren't “printed resources” for some absurd reason), so it's a bit of karmatic justice that the winning blog is that exact same essay: In Too Deep: The Bat Messiah vs The Devil in Clown Make-Up (aka Why Batman Is Jesus and The Joker is Satan). You can check it out here:
So there you have it. A toast to all the winners this week and for those that didn't make it, don't give up. This is the first time that I(Ratin8tor)(Fusionater: well I'm sure no one will question him writing his own congratulations) have actually won the Outstanding Blog of the Week, so if I can do it anyone can.
