Ok it's time for some Pixar magic. Brave's trailer by most people's translation has been pre labeled as being an epic, large movie while also taking a very dark edge to it.  Sorry to say but that interpretation is dead wrong. Brave is a very small-scale Pixar film with a more comedic edge to it. Let’s go back to my Grade 9 year in high school, shall we? I guess to properly spotlight this movie I'll have to quickly spotlight Madagascar 1 and 2. Madagascar (2005) was overall a weak entry in the Dreamworks collection. The animation, and lighting weren't as clean as films such as Shrek and the humour overall was hit and miss. However because of the spunky attitude of the humour, and obviously the penguins the film was able to reach a competent level of entertainment in my eyes.

Wasn't Gremlins a fantastic movie? It had fantastic special effects, fun characters, cute marketing material, and… The Gremlins. Destructive little hell spawns that love to cause mayhem and destruction giving them their fearsome quality that most monsters have to give but the Gremlins were also really funny and quirky, always laughing maniacally goofy. Now what would you get if you took that and replaced the Gremlins with homicidal soldier toys? That would be Small Soldiers.
