Greetings, Manic Fans. Les here to bring you the start of my fifth week in training.
Now before I get too far into this update, I first have to claim my victory. I achieved my first short term goal ahead of SomeJerkFromBoston and simultaneously made it through an entire hour of kickboxing class without stopping to catch my breath and avoided having to review Ewe Boll's Blubberella. I think that calls for the following illustration.....

Greetings, Manic Fans. Les here to report on my progress in training. Here it is, starting week #4 of my fitness/bodybuilding quest, and I’m recovering from my pulled calf muscle from last week and I’m feeling really great. My body is noticeably slimming down and my stamina is still improving. I’m finding it a lot easier to hold my singing notes and I’m not winded just walking around an...

Jak: I’ve always found it a tad interesting how the type of music I listen to tends to change based on the weather. On rainy days I like country ballads. On summer nights I tend to listen to honky tonk tunes. And around this time of year, when I can finally roll down the window of my car without getting soaked by 12 gallons of rain water and the smell of BBQ becomes more common, now is the time that I start listening to southern rock more often. I listen to all of ...

Greetings Manic Fans. Les here to talk about a hero from my childhood. When I was a wee lad of 5-7, My hero was a race car driver. It wasn’t Mario Andretti, Richard Petty or Cale Yarborough-NOPE! My hero drove the fastest, coolest most bad-assed racing car on the circuit. What he did on the racetrack was AWESOME and he nearly always won his races. Yess...

Greetings Manic fans. Les here admiring those who might say "Take me to your leader," in a Science Fiction show or film. Aliens are one of the best reasons for watching good Science Fiction in the first place. Strangers from other worlds with strange bodies, strange customs, strange languages, some technologically centuries ahead of us, some so terrifying that you leave the theater scar...

Greetings Manic Fans. Les here to start week 2 of my physical fitness comeback. After talking with you last Monday, I learned how to use the cardio machines so I'm now going in daily to cardio-powerwalk on the treadmill and cardio-climb on the elliptical machine.

Greetings Manic Fans. Les here to pay respects to a blog I wrote to pay respects to actor Leslie Nielsen right after he passed away on November 28th, 2010, that was subsequently deleted at TGWTG when they upgraded their systems again. It was a heartfelt article about this dramatic and comic genius and the laughter and joy he’d given me during his career. At the time of his passing, at age 84, Twitter nearly exploded with tweets regarding how much everyone was sad that he was gone-mys...

Greetings Manic Fans. Les here today to begin the chronicle of my journey back to shape...and then some. While I’m primarily attempting to lose 40 pounds with my new exercise regimen, I’ve decided I don’t want to waste the opportunity to build a better body than I had before. While I may not have been fat in my youth, I didn’t have the sort of body that you’d find on a Chippendale’...

Greetings Manic Fans. Les here to talk about the importance of staying in shape when you're younger. "But Les," you say, "Why is that so important?" Well, I'm glad you asked. See, when you pass 30 years of age, your metabolism starts to change. You can't get away with eating the same things while becoming less active than you used to(due to lifestyle changes from work, family or other).

Greetings Manic Fans. Les here to talk about characters who break the 4th wall. You know, the ones who take a pause in the middle of the film or show to look right into the camera with a message for the audience. We’re in on the secret, see? It’s fun to feel like we’re included in the entertainment. Today, I’m looking at my 12 favorite 4th wall breakers. Why 12? Becaus...
