InAPPropriate Comedy (What is funny?)

Posted by SOJA on March 19, 2013 at 5:30 PM Comments comments (10)

I wish movies didn't use a title, meme, or trendy offensive picture or trope, to make itself look more edgy and offensive when it's nothing more than a fish hook to reel an audience in; an audience that will laugh at just about anything. It makes it look more stupid that way.

STOP THE HATE #231 - Sex

We nerds aren’t shy about talking about anything, be it Kirk vs. Picard debates, why The Phantom Menace ruined our lives, or why Devo is the greatest band to ever rock a funny hat. There is one thing we don’t like to talk about though - sex. Coitus. The beast with two backs. We just can’t seem to...

Triple Nerd Score: Explaining My Absence

Posted by Ingonyama70 on February 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM Comments comments (11)

Hello there, ME. It's been a while

I suppose the first thing I owe everyone here is an explanation, like the blog title says.

Well, suffice it to say I have been RIDICULOUSLY busy helping my elderly neighbor make it to her doctor's appointments and obtaining the medicine and pills she is prescribed. It's at least two days a week where I'm completely occupado making sure she has everything she needs. Usually more.

The other thing is my couns...

Billy's Butthurt Blogs #2 - Valentine's Day

Posted by Butthurt Billy on February 14, 2013 at 4:25 AM Comments comments (2)

Well it's Valentine's Day once again and just like last year and the year before that and the year before that I don't have diddly-fucking-squat to show for it. No cards, no presents, no girlfriend, NOTHING. Nobody cares about me.

I hate this shitty holiday so much, you just cannot imagine it. It's like a global conspiracy to make me feel like crap all because I don't have a girlfriend as if this is MY fault. I can't help it if all just girls hate me. It's be...

My reply to Supernatural loves lesbian Take two

Posted by Darkspi on January 26, 2013 at 3:55 PM Comments comments (1)

Ok. Since I was angry and sparing emotions to anyone lesbian, homo, or fan of the lifetime. I had to sensitize the original blog, which I will keep up BUT in this one, I shall spare no feelings. So, for the anyone who shall find this offensive, there was the orginal you should have read instead of this one. Fair Warning.

The latest episode of Supernatural  did it again.....This is the second major character (who only appeared in only one or a few episodes) who was a hot and attract...

My reply to Supernatural loves lesbian

Posted by Darkspi on January 23, 2013 at 9:45 PM Comments comments (5)

The episode has not ended yet but Supernatural did it again..... First, the hot girl hacker (to my eyes, she was hot) and she turned out to be.....a lesbian. Tonight's story is no difference. The only thing is that the "queen" in the episode was not my type of girl but yet she was the second strong extra character who turns out to be lesbian.

Not to be suck a killjoy and be a jerk to all les but I dislike all of the idea of homoship in shows and movies. It's as bad as Avi Arad's horny ...

IF ONLY I HAD WRITTEN DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Posted by cactusbutt on January 11, 2013 at 3:00 PM Comments comments (2)

Oh, if only I had written you desperate housewives. If only the idea had come to me, then I would have been able to flush it down the crapper with the rest of my poop and be done with it.

When in the past I’ve written these style blogs, it’s always focused on some form of media that I think could do with a few tweaks to make it truly awesome. This, I am afraid, is not the case with Desperate Housewives, when it comes to DH I am committed to the belief that it...

Snips, Snails, Sugar, and Spice

Here I am- with another review of another fanfiction. I don't know anything about it, I just got it in the mail. Whelp, let's see what this bucker is made of.

Twist pedaled her bike down the dusty forest trail. YAY! Twist is the main character! Yes, yes, yes!   Enormous Douglas Fir trees towered over her.  Vine maples grew beneath these, providing both a deep shade and a glowing green understory that blotted out the blue sky above.  Salmonber...

My Body, My Choice

Posted by cactusbutt on November 4, 2012 at 2:05 PM Comments comments (3)

I’ve noticed that in the news about the upcoming 2012 elections there has been a lot of weight put onto women’s rights.

Now, I know I’m from New Zealand and law changes in the U.S shouldn’t directly affect me, but that’s for now. How long before these discussions on women’s rights spread to the rest of the world and threaten to push us back into the 1950’s? I worry so much about this possible overturn of Roe vs Wade because I thi...

Do Women Have To Be Sexualized In Order To Be Successful In Pop Culture?

Posted by cactusbutt on October 19, 2012 at 3:00 PM Comments comments (12)

In recent times it has become increasingly difficult to venture out into the public space without being bombarded with sexual imagery. One does not even have to leave their house in order to have it thrown at them because it has infiltrated every type of media. There are two major effects that our sex saturated culture has had; one, we become used to it because it is so pervasive, and it is no longer shocking. Two, we have come to see people in terms of their performed sexuality and so we exp...

Bitch Session: My Brother vs. Julius

Posted by MBA-Ms Bad Ass on October 1, 2012 at 2:35 PM Comments comments (4)

Hey friends!

I’m going to do something different with today’s Bitch Session. I’m going to kill two birds with one stone here. As you may have noticed in the title, I’m going to take a page out of Moviefan12’s book and compare/contrast the relative aggravation, anguish, and general repulsion that both my brother and Julius have caused me in the last few weeks.

I will start on my brother first, however, because he...

Hello Manic Expression. I want to play a game. Up till now you've squandered time writing blogs of expression, hiding from the internet out of fear of those that are afraid themselves. You read and comment on other blogs without looking deeply into the center of the person behind it all. Now I give you a choice. Your computer will emit a high frequency sound accompanied by a hypnotic transmission pulse which will render your subconscious into immolation. In Layman's Terms, Your brain is the e...

An allegory about depravity - "Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel"

A/N: This old review of mine might be the most confounding, befuddling and mindbumbling piece I have ever written. Enjoy.

STOP THE HATE #172 - Alec Baldwin

Posted by James on July 18, 2012 at 12:45 AM Comments comments (4)

A disclaimer before we proceed: I am an Alec Baldwin fan. His cameo role in Glengarry Glen Ross is one of the most thrilling bits of acting in any movie from the last half century. His supporting role in The Cooler takes an otherwise forgettable movie and makes it a must-see. Finally, his portrayal of Jack Donaghy in the last six seasons of 30 Rock has been, for me personally, the finest acting to ever grace a sitcom.

That said...

Food for Thought: Why I Prefer Gay Porn?

Posted by That Long-Haired Creepy Guy on June 27, 2012 at 12:35 AM Comments comments (22)

Greetings, all!

That Long-Haired Creepy Guy here.  Last known survivor of a doomed planet that was doused in cosmic radiation and garlic (which some say ruins the flavor, but I happen to be partial to), then exploded due to it's inhabitants plugging in all of their hair dryers at the same time.

For those of you that don't know, I am a bisexual man in my early thirties who lives in the Deep South.  This is not one of the friendliest places on Earth to hang your hat, parti...

STOP THE HATE #154 - Victims of Bullying

Posted by James on May 15, 2012 at 12:20 PM Comments comments (15)

A lot of critics jumped all over the documentary Bully when it was released last month. They said it did a good job talking to the victims of bullying and of examining the effects of such abuse, but it didn't really look at both sides of the argument. The critics wanted to hear from bullies. They wanted to discover why someone would become a bully, what would drive them to pick on someone weaker or smaller? They wanted to hear the bully's side of things.
